Cops and Robbers: Impersonation to Attain Money (11/5/17-11/8/17)

Thanks to the City of Coronado Police Department for providing The Coronado Times with the below information (partial list):

Crimes:

11/8/17: Vandalism near Coronado Cays Boulevard

Suspect intentionally drove a vehicle into freshly laid slurry, causing minor damage to city property.

11/8/17: Theft near 900 block of Ocean Boulevard

Suspect, identified through a photographic lineup, fled the scene with victim’s cell phone after the victim let him borrow the phone to make a call. The loss is approximately $380.

11/7/17: Impersonation to Attain Money (Felony) near 800 block of E Avenue

Unknown subject called the victim and told her she was going to be served with a warrant for an outstanding account from Bank of America. The victim did not provide any money to the subject.

11/7/17: Burglary near 300 block of Aruba Bend

Unknown suspect attempted to burglarize the residence at the location. The front door was found open and the drawers had been rummaged through. No items were taken.

11/6/17: Petty Theft near 600 block of Orange Avenue

Subject was seen by an officer riding away from the location on a Red Trek mountain bike. The victim later reported his Red Trek mountain bike missing from the library. The victim’s mother recovered the bicycle, and it was returned to the owner.

11/6/17: Petty Theft near 400 block of D Avenue

Unknown suspect took the victim’s tablet and cell phone power cord from a bag she accidentally left near the sidewalk after going to work. The loss is $398.62. No evidence or witnesses were located.

11/6/17: Vandalism near 1200 block of First Street

Unknown suspect vandalized the driver’s side mirror of the victim’s vehicle. The mirror was detached and hanging by only a wire. The monetary cost to fix the driver’s side mirror will be approximately $150.

11/6/17: Burglary of the First Degree near 200 block of Aruba Bend

Unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked garage and took a bicycle. The loss was valued at $500. The suspect fled the scene undetected. No evidence or witnesses were located.

11/7/17: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 300 block of Pomona Avenue

23 year old male

11/5/17: Assault with Deadly Weapon – Felony near 600 block of 6th Avenue
