Three adults have been arrested for bike theft in the past week. On Saturday, September 13, officers arrested two suspects for stealing the PD’s remotely monitored bicycle. The men stole the bicycle from Orange Avenue around 11:20 p.m. and placed it into the back of their pick-up truck. The truck was stopped at the intersection of Fourth Street and Alameda where officers took the two men into custody. Juan Villapando and Fernando Alba are being charged with grand theft, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
On Tuesday, September 9, officers arrested a 56-year-old man, identified as Robert Defalco, on burglary charges. Defalco was identified as the suspect in the theft of a bicycle from a secure parking garage at the Shores Condominiums on September 4. Before the bike could be reported stolen, Officers contacted the suspect on the bike and noted the serial number and description in the contact. The bike was reported stolen one hour later but by that time officers were unable to locate Defalco. The investigation developed information of Defalco’s whereabouts and he was arrested five days later. The bike was not recovered.
