As students got back into the swing of things after spring break, Coronado’s golf team hosted La Jolla High School at their home course. Players worked hard over their break to prepare for upcoming matches the following week. The first match, against La Jolla, resulted in a loss, with a final score of 228-205. Coronado’s lowest score was 41 strokes by Mateo Valles, followed by senior Blanchard Seniff (44) and sophomore Gino Frederick (46).
The following day, Coronado went to Riverwalk Golf Course for their first match against Francis Parker High School. Valles, once again, shot 41 strokes and was Coronado’s top performer. Frederick improved his score by two, with a final count of 44 strokes, and Seniff was not far behind with 45 strokes. Collectively, Coronado defeated Francis Parker 231-234 for their second win of the season.
