Local Women to Host Sip n Sail Event for Orphanage in India

Lindsay Maphet, whose family owns Aolani Catamaran Sailing, along with friends, Lauren Johnson Blair, local military wife and mother, and Makayla Lay, of Willis Allen Real Estate Coronado, are hosting a Sip n Sail event on the Aolani on November 9th, from 6-8pm. It will be a two-hour sunset sail on San Diego Bay, with the ticket proceeds going to Angel House, a Rescue Orphanage in India that has already built 136 homes for children, thus far, each housing 25-50 children who would otherwise be begging for food, homeless, or even involved in sex trafficking. It is a dark reality that the women are hoping to shed light on by hosting this event.

This will be the first public event on-board the Aolani Catamaran (which can host up to 48 passengers) – and they hope to host bi-monthly Sip n Sail fundraisers in 2018. Tickets for the event on November 9 are $95 per person, which include endless fun, cocktails and delicious appetizers, during the two hour sail.

The money raised during this event will go toward the following:

  • Land Acquisition
  • Materials and Labor
  • Home construction
  • Furnishings
  • Fresh Water Well
  • School Supplies
  • Caregivers
  • Playground Equipment
  • Clothing and MORE

From the Angel House team: “Without a miraculous rescue, each child was doomed to end up in one of three places: forced child trafficking, child labor, or begging on the streets for barely enough to get by. This is no life for a human being, let alone for a child.”

Help build a home for these children and sail on November 9th! Use the hashtag #FindYourIndia and get involved in the cause!
