Suspicious Man Frightens Young Girls

1995-POLICEPICTURE1CORONADO, CA – Last night around 7 pm. four girls, ages ranging from 11 to 14, were walking to Starbucks when a man in the 500 block of Palm Ave. asked the girls if they could help tie something into the bed of his truck. The girls became afraid and ran away from the man. The girls stated that the man walked, then ran after them for approximately one block. The girls ran to a friends house in the 800 block of D Ave. where they then called a parent.

The man is being described as a white male in his 50’s, approximately 5’5”, heavy build, with white or gray hair and a white beard. He was last seen wearing a gray long sleeve shirt and jacket. His truck was described as a silver or gray older double cab pickup truck with a sofa and chair tied in the bed of it.

Dispatchers received the initial call from the parent at 8:16 pm. and officers immediately went to the area looking for the vehicle. They were unable to locate it. The victims were not available for interviews until this morning, when a complete report was then taken.
