The following information was provided by the Coronado Police Department and summarized for publication. This report covers Aug. 15 to 21.
Arrests:
DUI Aug. 15: A 24-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Possible penalties for a first offense include up to six months in county jail, fines and license suspension.
Driving without a license Aug. 15: An 18-year-old man was cited on misdemeanor charges for driving without a valid license and failing to provide evidence of insurance. Possible penalties include up to six months in county jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
DUI causing injury Aug. 16: A 22-year-old man was arrested on felony charges of driving under the influence causing injury. Possible penalties include 16 months to three years in prison, along with fines and license suspension.
Drug paraphernalia Aug. 17: A 62-year-old man was cited on misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from another jurisdiction. Possible penalties for the paraphernalia charge include up to six months in county jail; warrant penalties vary based on the originating jurisdiction.
Battery and elder abuse Aug. 17: A 46-year-old woman was arrested on felony charges of battery causing serious bodily injury and elder or dependent adult abuse. Each charge carries potential penalties of two to four years in state prison.
Burglary and grand theft Aug. 19: A 24-year-old man was arrested on felony charges of second-degree burglary and grand theft. Possible penalties include 16 months to three years in custody.
Vandalism Aug. 20: A 46-year-old woman was cited on misdemeanor vandalism charges. Possible penalties include up to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
Shoplifting Aug. 20: A 34-year-old man was cited on misdemeanor shoplifting charges. Possible penalties include up to six months in county jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
