CORONADO, CA – What will your neighborhood look like in 10 years? That’s a question participants will be asked at a May 21 public workshop to discuss residential design standards that may affect Coronado’s quality of life and village atmosphere.
The City Council recently reconvened an ad hoc committee it originally appointed in 2003 and re-formed in 2010. The Residential Standards Improvement Program 3, or RSIP-3, will review and evaluate the results of the first two ad hoc committees and consider ways to further improve Coronado’s residential standards and the quality of our residential neighborhoods.
The RSIP Committee wants to hear from the residents of Coronado’s neighborhoods. This is an opportunity for all residents to voice their opinion.
The workshop will be hosted by the RSIP-3 committee, along with City staff members Rachel Hurst, Director of Community Development, and Peter Fait, Associate Planner. The workshop will include a slide presentation of single-family homes completed after the second Residential Standards Improvement Program was passed four years ago. This will illustrate what changes already have been made. The committee also has prepared a comprehensive online survey, which will be available upon completion of the workshop at www.coronado.ca.us/rsip. The deadline to complete the survey is June 16 at 9 a.m.
The 8-member committee includes Ralph Greenspan, Chair; Sheryl Rosander, Vice Chair; Lynn Dougan; Caroline Haines; Dorothy Howard; Doug St. Denis; Brian Trotier; and Renee Wilson.
