Mickey’s of Coronado to Open June 12th with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Coronado Mayor Casey Tanaka will cut the ribbon to officially open Mickey’s of Coronado at the Ferry Landing at noon on Wednesday, June 12th. Mickey’s is a new fun food destination that brings a quick, affordable, high quality eating option to the Ferry Landing. Free food giveaways or discounts will be given to anyone attending the ceremony this Wednesday.

Mickey’s is an outdoor food cart specializing in premium hot dogs, polish sausage, churros, gourmet ice drinks and more. The company has unique hand crafted toppings for their hot dogs locally made including Pineapple relish, Mango Chutney, Mango habanero, bacon ketchup, honey mustard, island slaw and island kraut. “The feedback has been outstanding, especially on the toppings” says Alan Kinzel who started the business as a project with his two sons. “Even if you are not into the different toppings, the traditional toppings are available as well, everything is a la carte”. Mickey’s even offers a pretzel bun or traditional bun choice that is baked locally in San Diego.

You may recognize some of the people working as they are nearly all Coronado residents. “The cart has images of Coronado, recipes made here, employees hired here. We really wanted to make it a local place, giving back to the city by supporting other local businesses and hiring local kids to work it. ” Kinzel says.
