According to Captain Tim Curran with the San Diego Sheriff’s Homicide Unit: The body of the victim, Rebecca Nalepa also known as Rebecca Zahau, was discovered with a rope around her neck, hanging from a balcony off the main house. The victim’s hands and feet were bound, and she was completely nude.
Adam Shacknai, brother of homeowner Jonah Shacknai, discovered the victim’s body and called 911. After Adam Shacknai found Nalepa hanging from the balcony, he cut her down.
An autopsy is being completed Thursday morning by the San Diego Medical Examiner.
