Future Is Now at TEDMED 2010

Stories of innovation took center stage at TEDMED 2010, a four-day meeting at the Hotel del Coronado that focused on emerging ideas in health care and medicine, with a decided emphasis on technology, devices, genomics and policies now under way with the recent health reform law.

Prominent local speakers included Eric Topol, a cardiologist who directs the Scripps Translational Science Institute and is chief innovation officer of the West Wireless Health Institute, and genomic pioneer J. Craig Venter, president of the J. Craig Venter Institute in San Diego and head of Synthetic Genomics Inc.
