Location: Spreckels Park Date: Sunday, August 16th Start Time: 6pm Navy Band Southwest is one of the Navy’s finest and oldest continuing musical organizations. Now with over 80 years of support to the San Diego community, the band serves as the musical ambassador for the Commander, Navy Region Southwest. Under the direction of Lieutenant Mark K. Corbliss, the band is located onboard Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado, CA and serves the military and civilian communities throughout the Southwestern United States. The 45-member organization calls upon its Ceremonial Band for the majority of its work. The band’s other performing ensembles include the Concert Band, SeaBreeze, the band’s VIP reception combo, Crucero, the entertaining salsa band, Showband West, Brass and Woodwind Quintets, and the contemporary music ensemble “Destroyers”. Come on down to Spreckels Park for the best summer concert series around. Bring family, friends and food as you enjoy a wonderful night of music in the heart of Coronado. Adults and kids alike will dance, laugh, break bread and most of all listen to great music in one of our favorite parks on the island. Get a good spot for your blanket, chairs or wagon and arrive 15-30 minutes before the start time.
