Lady Islanders Beat High Tech High on Senior Night

Senior Camille Paje sings the national anthem.

Thursday’s Senior Night started off rocky with unforced offensive errors, but the girls quickly turned this around in the second set. Seniors Camille Paje and Liz Hunsaker continued to motivate and encourage their team to finish the second set with a 25 -23 win over High Tech High. Securing the match, sophomore setter Jenna Tocorzic carried her offense to a total of 24 kills for the night.

Throughout the last week of practice, Coach Adeile had concentrated on a disciplined defense. When Islanders Caitlin Kane, Maddie Flanagan, Phina Bustos and Zoe Johnstad shared a total of 78 digs, Coach Adeile knew the sweat and hard work paid off.

Finishing the regular season and senior night with a big win against High Tech High was a great way to end. With a promising win, the girls are charged with confidence for the first round of playoffs on Wednesday, October 30th, against Mar Vista High school.
