Leland Orr (1996-2019) – Celebration Service is May 31st

A celebration of Leland’s life will be held on Friday, May 31st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Coronado, CA. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Leland Richard Orr of Austin, TX passed away early Friday morning, May 24th in Austin, TX.

Leland was born May 26, 1996 in San Diego, CA, son of Richard and Victoria (Lashmet) Orr.

Leland was a beloved son, grandson, nephew and cousin. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was a sports aficionado and played baseball, football and lacrosse. Leland overcame so many obstacles and was the apple of his mom and sister’s eye. He graduated from Coronado High School in 2014 before getting his degree from Richland Community College in Decatur, IL. Leland started his career with Tharaldson Hospitality Management in Forsyth, IL, and then was promoted to Operations Manager in Austin, TX. He loved his THM family in Forsyth and Austin.

Surviving are mother, Victoria Lashmet Orr and sister, Meghan Orr, of Coronado, CA, grandparents, Joseph Patrick and Phebe Lashmet of Decatur, IL, Richard and Beverly Orr of Springfield, IL, Shirley Lanphier of Springfield, IL, aunts & uncles Aimee (Tim) Fyke of Forsyth, IL, Julie Dee of Fredericksburg, TX, Sean Lashmet of Kansas City, MO, John Crisp of Kansas City, MO, Becky (Chris) Reid of Springfield, IL, Debbie (Wen) Fritsch of Springfield, IL, Jim (Vicky) Orr of Tucson, AZ and many beloved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard Orr.

A celebration of Leland’s life will be held on Friday, May 31st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Coronado, CA. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Decatur, IL at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
