Preschool Enrichment Classes Offered at the Community Center

PK Barnyard PaloozaThe Coronado Recreation Department is currently accepting registration for their fall programs, including nine different classes for children ages three to five!  Whether you would like for your preschooler to learn pre-math concepts or to speak Spanish, the Coronado Community Center has an enrichment opportunity for them.

On Mondays, three to five year olds can learn the basics of math in the NEW “One, Two, Three…For You and Me” class.  Little dancers will “Twirl, Spin and Jump” in that preschool dance class on Mondays.

Tuesdays brings opportunities to dance or tumble in “Mini Gym” and in the “Move to the Beat” classes.  Also, there is “Passport Pals” where three to five year olds will get to explore the globe as they find out about different cultures.

Wednesdays is the Spanish language class, “Hola Amigos,” for preschoolers, and Thursdays there is the “Little STEAMERS” class where participants explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math through experiments, games and crafts.

The “Reading Rainbow ABCs” class on Fridays gets little ones learning the alphabet with cooking, crafts and play activities.

Three mornings a week, children two to three years old can have fun with their peers in the “Playmania” Program.  This self-directed program is for toddlers and young preschoolers to enjoy everything from music and movement to small and large group play.  Parents can choose which day(s) of the week to have their child attend Playmania since it is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays individually.  This popular program is a great introduction for children to attend to work on developing their social skills and imagination as it prepares them to attend preschool when they are older.  Many children go to Playmania, then they transition into the preschool classes.

The recreation department offers classes designed especially for infants, tots, preschoolers, school age children, preteens, teens and adults  All the fall classes start the week of September 19th.   You can register for these classes on-line at www.coronado.ca.us , by phone (619-522-7342), or in person at the Coronado Community Center (1845 Strand Way).  For more information on the preschool classes or other programs, contact the recreation department at 619-522-7342.
