Coronado Schools Exhibit Now Open at the Coronado Museum

‘INSPIRED! 100 Years of Coronado Schools’

A brand-new exhibition organized by the Coronado Historical Association tells the extraordinary story of Coronado schools. ‘INSPIRED! 100 Years of Coronado Schools’ is now open in the Coronado Museum.

The exhibition includes over a hundred historic images, artifacts, photographs and documents from CHA’s own collection, individual school and CUSD archives, athletic awards, and memorabilia from former students and graduates, and the community at large.

The display represents a partnership of community organizations including the Coronado Unified School District, Coronado High School, Coronado Historical Association, Coronado School of the Arts, Coronado Schools Foundation and the Coronado Public Library. CHA Executive Director Bruce Linder, a 1967 graduate of CHS, curated the new exhibit.

Although taking a broader look at the storied history of all Coronado public schools since 1887, there is a specific focus on Coronado High School—at the heart of many Coronadans’ fondest memories of growing up here. The 100th graduating class of Coronado High will receive their diplomas in 2015.

The Coronado Museum is located at 1100 Orange Avenue.
Admission prices for the Museum are: $5 Adults; $3 Seniors; Members, Active-Duty Military and Children (ages 16 & under) are free.

With a theme of ‘100 Years of Islander Tradition,’ CHA’s annual Celebrating Coronado History gala on Saturday, March 14, will complement the new exhibit. To purchase tickets or for more information about the upcoming gala, click here.
