My old Westmont Communication Studies Professor, Dr. Greg Spencer, coined a phrase years ago: If you live by the computer, then you have to die by the computer. Back then, of course, most of the students were using word processors to complete papers and other assignments, but the point hit home – if you depend on technology to get stuff done, you better have a good plan for when it fails. He was notorious for rejecting “computer issue” excuses from students that were hoping for an extension due to “glitches beyond their control”.
Fast forward to 2014 and the technology issues continue to get in the way of homework, work and even daily living situations. We all rely on technology and devices so much that when they stop working, so do we.
In the home office, we were have a couple issues that all hit about the same time:
– MacBook Pro lost all power
– Backup drive wasn’t really backing up
– Chromecast plugged into TV was “casting a picture” but not sound
My wife shared that she had recently heard about a “computer tech-head” named Brad Unz. He is the owner of CoronadoIT and the women of the Coronado Moms FB Group raved about his services. By the way, if you are unfamiliar with the Coronado Moms FB Page, it’s pretty much the “underground mafia” of Coronado – you want these ladies on your side.
I called the number (619-537-8860) and he actually picked up on the second ring. He said he had time in about 90 minutes and showed up as promised. He was able to solve all the issues in less than an hour and then stayed a bit to chat and share more about his life. Not only is Brad a great “tech-head and computer doctor”, but he was formerly a police chief in Chicago and the head of corporate security for a Fortune 100 company.
Brad loves technology and moreover, loves working here in Coronado solving technology issues for his clients. We highly recommend his services the next time you need tech support. Don’t get mad, call Brad.
