Community Blood Drive at Union Bank in Coronado (May 31st)


The San Diego Blood Bank will hold a community blood drive on Saturday, May 31st from 9am-2pm in the Union Bank Parking Lot on 800 Orange Avenue. The blood drive is for all people willing to donate their blood, even if their blood type is unknown. Requirements include being at least 17 years of age, weighing at least 114 pounds, and not having received a new piercing within the past four months; participants will fill out a survey of preliminary questions, have their finger pricked to test for iron in the bloodstream, get their blood pressure taken, etc. to see if they are able to donate. Come out and help support people in need! Your blood could save lives.

Caroline was 15 years old when her family moved to Coronado. Though she was a “transplant”, Caroline found a home in the Coronado community near-immediately: she became an intern for “The Coronado Times”; helped reinstate the CHS newspaper, “The Islander Times”; was a volunteer dog-walker for PAWS; and a faithful Concert in the Park attendee.After completing her BA in English at the University of California Santa Barbara, she went on to craft answers for Amazon Alexa devices and write creatively on the side.
