The Coronado Brewing Company is on top of the world or at least the World Beer Cup.
At the international competition Friday in Denver, Coronado was named “Champion Brewery and Brewmaster” among mid-size breweries. Two of its beers were among the 11 San Diego County winners: Islander IPA won gold in the American-style strong pale ale category, while Old Scallywag was the silver medalist among barley wine-style ales.
