Coronado SAFE is excited to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 11th Annual Coronado Peacemaker Awards.
The Peacemaker Awards celebrate people who live or work in Coronado and serve as positive role models for youth by valuing and promoting peaceful communication and the peaceful resolution of conflict with their actions.
Carole Tessicini, Special Projects Coordinator for Coronado SAFE, said that “Peace does not mean total harmony among people or the absence of disagreements. A peacemaker brings certain characteristics to disagreements that make room for resolution and creation of harmony, always striving for win-win outcomes.”
The Peacemaker Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 6:30 8:30 p.m. at the Coronado Community Center. The Ceremony aptly coincides with the Coronado Unified School District’s “Take My Hand, Coronado!” week, and supplements the schools’ weeklong celebration of peace in human relationships.
