The property at 1010 GLORIETTA BAY is the subject of this alert and the ongoing process of establishing it as a historic preservation property. It is a Homer Delewie design built in 1963 for Captain and Mrs. A. J. Petersen. The State of California has already approved it’s status as important and worthy of preservation. The paperwork is now in Washington, DC waiting for it’s final approval.
In the meantime the owner, a developer, is systematically dismantling the house. In spite of more than one Cease and Desist Order issued by the City of Coronado he is dismantling the house. Perhaps to remove all that makes it worthy of distinction, to then tear it down and build another to profit him at our loss.
This is an urgent call to help save the property from further destruction and make him STOP.
The City of Coronado is seeking a temporary restraining order and an order to show cause why a preliminary injunction should not be issued in order to prevent further modifications while the home is awaiting historic designation.
Tomorrow, April 14, there will be a hearing at San Diego’s Hall of Justice at 330 W Broadway on the fourth floor in Department 65 at 8:30am. Judge Lewis will be on the bench. PLEASE ATTEND!
