Update: The 78-year-old driver that was killed was Claire Elaine Dietz of Coronado. Dietz was driving a Subaru sedan and pulled onto Silver Strand Blvd. from Fiddler’s Cove. Dietz pulled in front of a SUV traveling southbound. The vehicles collided, the Subaru rolled several times and Dietz died at the scene. The SUV was being driven by a 25-year-old male who had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital. Witnesses say that the driver of the SUV was not speeding.
