22 Jump Street in Theaters Now

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill once again star as the classic dynamic duo: two cops who just busted their first case and are slightly foolish, overly optimistic, and incredibly funny. Undercover officers Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) solved the drug case infiltrating a high school, and now are faced with solving the same case in a bigger setting: college. The two partners investigate the university by joining two very different worlds: Schmidt with the bohemian art major crowd, and Jenko with the football players. As Jenko becomes closer with a new friend and possible suspect on the football team, who also happens to be his seemingly long-lost soulmate, and gains a shot at a real college and football experience, Schmidt begins to question their partnership. Now, the two must figure out if they can solve cases and maintain their relationship.

The two-hour movie is engaging the whole time, with witty one-liners, plenty of action, and a little romance for Schmidt. Though the plot at times seems slightly discombobulated, overall it mirrors 21 Jump Street in its hilarity and will please fans of the original as well as people who have not seen it. Moviegoer Abigail Callahan said, “I found it quite jocular and humorous while sticking to the overall theme and not going too far off track as some comedies tend to do.”
