Friends of the Library Book Fair 2019 a Smashing Success

Don’t let anyone tell you that books are going the way of the dinosaurs. All genres of books are alive and well in Coronado and beyond as evidenced by the hundreds of shoppers who came from near and far for the 49th annual Friends of the Library Book Fair, held the weekend of April 13 and 14. On sale were more than 19,000 books to choose from, in every category imaginable from children to collectibles to military and mystery, as well as audiobooks, and DVDs. This year there were more than 200 volunteers from the Friends of the Coronado Library, National Charity League, Boy Scout Troop 806, NJROTC, and the Navy, that helped to pull off this tremendous event which raised $28,000.

You don’t have to wait another year to buy or donate books because Second Hand Prose is open seven days a week, conveniently located behind the Coronado Public Library in the 700 block of D Avenue.
