Soccer: CHS Girls Destroy Lincoln High School 5-0 and Celebrate Senior Night

With a nearly spotless record of only one loss, the Islander Girls’ Varsity Soccer team took on a tough Clairemont High School team last Wednesday. A primarily defensive game, the score ended in a tie of 1-1. The goal for the Islanders was scored by freshman Riley McGrath, with an assist from freshman Ella Oden.

The following Friday, Coronado hosted Lincoln High School for the Girls’ Varsity Soccer “Senior Night.” This game resulted in a 5-0 shut-out by the Islanders. Two of the five goals were scored by McGrath, with two assists from senior Madison Shanks. Junior Sydney Neibert, sophomore Gracie Smith, and sophomore Amelia Hawley each scored one goal.

The team’s current season record is seven wins to one loss to three ties.
