Golf: CHS Boys Take Two Losses Against Two Tough Teams

This week, Coronado’s Boys’ Golf team was faced with two strong opponents, one at home and one away. Tuesday’s match against Scripps Ranch was played at Coronado’s home course and resulted in 236-192 loss. Team Captain Mateo Valles led the team with the lowest score of 39 strokes. Other top performers were Gino Frederick and Nick Rowden, with a total of 45 strokes and 48 strokes, respectively.

The second match of the week was played on Thursday against Cathedral Catholic High School at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. Once again, Valles was the top golfer for Coronado, shooting 40 strokes. Not far behind was senior Blanchard Seniff (41 strokes) and sophomore Matt Schnauppauf (42 strokes), followed by Rowden who shot 48 strokes. “This was our best performance of the year so far on a very difficult golf course,” Coach Gordon shares. We wish the team luck in carrying this high performance over into next week as they play in the Saints Tournament at the San Diego Country Club.

Next Week’s Matches:

Wednesday, March 21 vs. Torrey Pines High School at the Coronado Municipal Golf Course @ 3:00 PM

Thursday, March 22 – Saints Tournament at the San Diego Country Club
