They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re altogether ooky, the Addams Family (snap, snap).
Opening CPH’s 2018 Season is The Addams Family, a spectacular musical comedy from the multi award-winning writers of Jersey Boys, with music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) and directed by Playhouse favorite, Rayme Sciaroni.
Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, is all grown up and has a shocking secret that only her father Gomez knows. She’s fallen in love with a sweet young man from a responsible family. With his adored wife Morticia in the dark, will Gomez manage to keep his daughter’s secret until the two families meet for a fateful dinner with hilarious consequences? Join them all, along with Uncle Fester, Pugsley and more for this heart-warming story of love, family and friendship… with a twist! (snap, snap).
Partnerships
Community Theatre is made by, with and for the community in which it is performed. Coronado Playhouse is committed to pursuing community theatre in the truest sense of the words by giving back to the people of San Diego County and using our public platform to help those in need.
During the run of The Addams Family we are partnering with Voices For Children in an effort to bring much needed exposure and donations to this incredible organization.
Voices for Children (VFC) transforms the lives of abused, abandoned, or neglected children by providing them with trained volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). VFC believes that every child deserves a safe and permanent home, and to that end, will provide a CASA volunteer to every child who needs one. CASAs work one-on-one with a child or sibling group to ensure their needs are being met—in the courtroom, in the classroom, and in the community. Last year, VFC staff and CASAs advocated on behalf of more than 3,400 foster children across San Diego and Riverside Counties.

The Best Gift. To see an example of how just one person can positively change the life of a foster, we invite you to watch: The Best Gift. This inspiring video features Rosie, a former foster youth, whose life was transformed by the dedication of her CASA.
Speak Up for a Foster Child. With just 10-15 hours a month, you can help create a brighter future for a foster child. Interested in becoming a CASA volunteer? Please sign up to attend one of VFC’s free Information Sessions, with dates scheduled into February.
Ways to Give. There are multiple ways to support Voices for Children’s mission to provide foster children with a CASA volunteer of their very own. To learn more about making a charitable contribution, please visit VFC’s online giving page.
