CHS Girls’ Golf Takes a Loss Against Torrey Pines High School 229-210

After a convincing win against Poway High School the day prior, the CHS golf squad fell short of a victory at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. Crista Izuzquiza performed excellently against Poway, completing the 9-hole course in 37 strokes, as did her teammate Sophia Matthews.

In regards to the match against Torrey Pines, Coach Gordon admits, “We gave away too many penalty strokes, 15 total, with hitting out of bounds, water hazards, and marking a ball off the green.” With the first league match next week, he will continue to work on this challenge his players experience.

The team’s record is now six wins to two losses.
