Cops and Robbers: Fictitious Checks, ID Theft, Is Your Information Secure? (4/1/17-4/26/17)

CRIMES

4/25/17-4/26/17: Petty Theft near 400 block of D Avenue
Unknown suspects stole victim’s unattended and unlocked bicycle from the area around her home. The bicycle’s current estimated value is $350.

4/23/17: Burglary of the Second Degree near 900 block of Orange Avenue
Suspect entered the Sunglass Hut and took seven sunglasses from the display cases and ran out of the location. The total loss value of the sunglasses is $2,160.

4/22/17: Battery near 900 block of 10th Street
Subjects were involved in a verbal altercation. Victim stated that during the altercation the suspect had pushed her.

4/21/17-4/22/17: Petty Theft near 1300 block of 6th Street
Unknown suspects entered victim’s unlocked van and stole $100 cash, sunglasses, a cell phone charger/holder, and a bag containing sports gear. The total loss is estimated at $300.

4/21/17-4/22/17: Malicious Mischief/Vandalism (Misdemeanor) near 300 block of G Avenue
Left rear brake light of a vehicle was smashed while parked in front of the location. Victim is unable to identify any potential suspects.

4/21/17: Grand Theft near 1100 block of Loma Avenue
Unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked office and took her wallet, which contained her driver license, credit cards, and $500 in US currency. The loss is valued at about $1,800. No witnesses or evidence were located.

4/20/17-4/21/17: Taken Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent near 1900 block of Strand Way
Victim’s trailer was taken some time during the night from the location.

4/19/17: Petty Theft near 1400 block of 2nd Street
Unknown suspect(s) took victim’s bicycle which was locked to a handicapped sign in the parking lot of the location. The total loss was estimated at $150. There were no witnesses to the incident.

4/18/17-4/19/17: Petty Theft near 500 block of D Avenue
Unknown suspects gained entry into victim’s unlocked vehicle and took a brown Coach clutch wallet containing $5 in quarters and a sales receipt for the vehicle. The total loss was estimated at $85.

4/18/17-4/19/17: Attempted Burglary near 200 block of D Avenue
Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into victim’s vehicle, which was parked at the location. There was no property loss or damage to the vehicle. There were no witnesses to the incident and no suspect description.

4/17/17: Use of Another’s Personal Identification Information near 200 block of Aruba Bend
Unknown suspects used a phishing email to obtain victim’s identity information in an attempt to steal her identity.

4/16/17-4/17/17: Grand Theft near 700 block of A Avenue
An unlocked bicycle was taken from the backyard of the residence. Victim is unable to identify any potential suspects. The bicycle was valued at $1,500.

4/11/17-4/25/17: Making or Passing of Fictitious Check near 1500 block of Glorietta Boulevard
Unknown suspect(s) used victim’s bank account information to write numerous fraudulent checks.

4/8/17: Burglary of the Second Degree near 800 block of J Avenue
Unknown suspect(s) took victim’s bicycle from his carport at his residence.

4/1/17: Use of Another’s Personal Identification Information near 1800 block of Fitzgerald Avenue
Suspect applied for a student loan through a foundation using victim’s social security number.

4/25/17: Bench Warrant of Arrest – Misdemeanor near 800 block of San Luis Rey Avenue
53 year old male

4/24/17: Bench Warrant of Arrest – Felony near 800 block of H Avenue
32 year old male

4/23/17: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 1300 block of 6th Street
51 year old male

4/22/17: Vandalism ($400 or More) – Felony near 1100 block of 5th Street
44 year old male

4/9/17: Shoplifting – Misdemeanor at North Island
18 year old male
