I am supporting Carrie Downey for Mayor because she is the most qualified
candidate. She has demonstrated the ability to get things accomplished in
the system as a member of the City Council. She is a strong problem solver,
local resident advocate and a good listener. She brings the perspective of a
Naval Officer and a parent who had three children attend local Coronado schools.

I have seen her build consensus for projects. She has provided leadership
and worked well with other council members. She does research, listens and
does her homework. She is a tireless worker for local causes.
Some of her accomplishments include:

  1. Moving the Council meeting start time an hour later so it is
easier for the residents to participate.
  2. Videotaping commission meetings so residents could watch what
happens rather than just read minutes.
  3. Allowing Coronado residents to use School District playgrounds and
    sports facilities for free.
  4. Making rooms available in our beautiful new buildings at low prices
for Coronado residents and Coronado based non-profits.
  5. Making some rooms available to Coronado residents for FREE when not
being used for Recreation Department programs for kids.
  6. Putting lighting along 3rd & 4th to make it safer for pedestrians.

Join me in voting for Carrie Downey for Mayor of Coronado.
