Thanksgiving Turkey Trot – Register Today

2016-turkey-trot-logoIt’s time! Registration is open for the 3rd Annual “Turkey Trot” at Tidelands Park on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24, 2016. The Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary – Coronado Unit invites you, your family and friends to “Move your feet…before you eat!” Net proceeds to benefit the Mental/Behavioral Health Initiative at Rady Children’s Hospital.

Please visit www.CoronadoTurkeyTrot.com for more information and click here to register for the 8:00am, 5K run/walk. Runners, strollers (both kinds) and walkers are welcome! It is a timed event with male and female awards by age groups. All participants will receive a beautifully customized medal commemorating the 3rd Annual Coronado 5K Turkey Trot and a custom-designed 2016 Turkey Trot t-shirt.

The goal this year is to donate $50,000 to the Mental/Behavioral Health Initiative at Rady Children’s Hospital.

A child at risk is a concern to all of us. Rady’s Emergency Department sees more than 200 children and adolescents per month with acute mental health needs. Consistent with Rady’s history, in 2014 the hospital was proactive and took steps to increase capacity for pediatric mental health care services in San Diego County by opening the “Crisis Stabilization Unit” (CSU), which at this time has 12 beds. The CSU is a 24-hour, short-term crisis and treatment program that assists patients in a mental health crisis.
Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary – Coronado Unit’s mission is to work in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego and to support its mission through: advocating for the health and well-being of children, increasing community awareness of Rady Children’s, and fundraising.

Registration ends Monday, November 21, 2016. Register early as this event sells out every year!
