Recreation Department offering Parent and Child Movement Classes this Summer!

Various parent and child classes are available at the Coronado Community Center for parents with their children that are 12 months old to 5 years old.

imageThis summer the Coronado Community Center is offering a variety of programs to which parents can bring their young children so that they can experience the joy of learning new skills as they participate together!

3-5 year olds

In the “Rock and Roll with Me,” “Move 2 the Beat,” “Movers and Shakers,” and “Move and Groove Classes,” parents will love being a part of their child’s experience of expressing themselves with imaginative play and dance movements to music. With the “Parent and Child Yoga Class” moms or dads will try poses and animated breathing exercises together with their child. The youngest Star Wars fans can bring their parent to the “Star Wars Dance Camp” for obstacle course challenges and other fun movement activities. For Frozen fans, there is the “Frozen and Fairytales Camp” where they can dress up and learn dance moves to favorite princess tunes with their mom (or dad).

2-4 year olds

Two to four year olds can bring their parents to the “New Mini T-N-T” and “Tumble and Bounce Classes.” These active classes will have youngsters jumping, bouncing, hanging and swinging from bars with their parent nearby.

1-3 year olds

Toddlers ages 12-36 months can join their parents for an introduction to gymnastics in the “Parent and Tot Tumble Time Class.” There they will sing songs, tumble and work on gross motor skills.
