CoSA’s Spring Musical Presents “Catch me if You Can”

Fasten your seat belts…it’s going to be one heck of a ride!

The hit DreamWorks film and the theatrical adaptation are based on the incredible true story of Frank Abagnale Jr.a seasoned con-artist with charm to spare. Catch Me If You Can, is the high-flying musical comedy about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Nominated for 4 Tony awards, including Best Musical, this delightfully entertaining show was created by a Tony Award-winning “dream team,” with a book by Terrence McNally (The Full Monty, Ragtime) and a swinging score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray).

Seeking fame and fortune, precocious teenager Frank Abagnale, Jr. runs away from home to begin an unforgettable adventure. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a substitute French teacher at his own high school then later a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer — living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. But when Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes.

CoSA’s spring musicals have become a seasonal favorite, pulling together the talents of several CoSA Departments to produce an outstanding stage extravaganza of music, high energy dance, and song! Our dashing con-artist, Frank Jr. is played by Ben Shapiro, while Matt Morris takes on the role of his father Frank Sr., leading the chase for Frank is Jake Wascher portraying FBI agent Carl Hanratty, and Annabell Walker delivers a fabulous performance as Paula Abagnale.

This rollicking, action-packed comedy/musical opens April 29 and we expect a full house. Evening performances are 4/29, 4/30, 5/6 and 5/7, with a Sunday matinee on 5/1.
