Village Theatre was evacuated last night as a precaution due to an odor.
eCoronado.com spoke to theatre manager Lance Alspaugh and he shared that the “Coronado Fire Department ordered the building cleared just to be safe. Apparently there was a cracked belt on one of the A/C units in the main theatre room that created the odor. There was no fire or smoke.”
He also said that they have a state-of-the-art alarm system to ensure they are prepared for issues regarding smoke or fire.
The theatre was open as of this morning for Sunday matinees.
