Journey to Crown Island in local author’s new book

Local author June Mac Leod likes to write stories that entertain and provide escape from the everyday busy lives that readers have. In her recently published novel, Mystery at Crown Island, she provides the readers with a mini-vacation as they journey to the mythical Crown Island.

As the story opens, a legal assistant with a very stressful job takes a much needed vacation and visits her favorite aunt at the family vacation home on Crown Island. There, amidst the social events of island life during the summer, the legal assistant and her aunt help solve a murder mystery and delve into the history and lore of the island…including tales of pirates taking refuge there in the 1700s. A search goes on for pirate treasure!

Readers recognize some aspects of Coronado island life incorporated into Crown Island. For example, Crown Island has its own version of the Hotel del Coronado. Only on Crown Island, it’s called the DeHaven.

Some readers have asked June to write a sequel which is in the development stage now.

June Mac Leod is also working on two more books that will be published on Amazon.com and on Kindle in the near future: Josephine’s Journey and Josephine’s Journey Continues. These two books delve into the life of a young lady in 1851 as she struggles to find her identity in a man’s world and as she discovers her strength through her faith in God.

Mystery at Crown Island is available on Amazon.com (for a printed version) and on Kindle.
