Obtain Money, etc, by False Pretenses (Over $400)
The victim used Craigslist to find a roommate. The victim contacted the suspect, who agreed to rent a room from the victim for $350. The suspect sent the victim a check for $2,400, then requested the victim send the suspect $1,700. The victim complied with the request. After the victim sent the money to the suspect, the original check was cancelled, causing the victim to be defrauded out of the money he had given.
