Operation Bait Bike…Success! 4 People Arrested for Stealing Bikes — UPDATED with additional arrest


Four people were arrested early this morning for stealing the PD’s bait bike. Officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle near Orange Ave. and Adella around 1:15 a.m. and recovered the bait bike and a second stolen bicycle. All four suspects were processed then transported to county jail.

Arrested:

1- Nicholas Donahue (03/02/1980)
2-Martha Donahue aka Tracy Kern (06/02/1978)
3- Matthew Ward (05/12/1982)
4- Judith Johnson (08/30/1959)

The bait bike program is just one of several investigative tools officers are using to catch bike thieves.

UPDATE (June 29th):

Another man has been arrested after police say he stole the police department’s remotely monitored bicycle. According to the Coronado Police Department, the 20-year-old San Diego man was arrested near Ynez Place and Glorietta Boulevard around 8:30 p.m.

Junior Rosendo Neustaedter (born 5-13-1994)
