FIDM students plan Coronado 2.5k “Orange Run” to fight childhood obesity

The students of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising have created an event called the 2.5k “Orange Run”. This event will take place at Tidelands Park in Coronado, CA at 9:30 am on February 22nd and will continue on until 12:00pm. The purpose of this event is to spread awareness about preventing childhood obesity and provide children with fun and different ways to be active and to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the event attendees will engage with local sponsors that are providing food, beverages, and more. The run will also consist of different activities throughout, such as relay races, face painting, etc. Parents and children that are considering attending this event are currently able to purchase presale tickets for $12.00 or purchase a ticket at the event for $15.00. All of the proceeds gained from ticketing, activities, and local sponsors are being donated to a local organization.
