Last Vegas Rolls into Coronado Village Theatre

Last Vegas revisits the 58-year-long alliance of “The Flatbush Four”: Archie, Paddy, Billy, and Sam, friends since their youth in New York. Vegas follows hot on the trails of these “Grandpas Gone Wild” as they navigate Las Vegas, Nevada, for Billy’s (Douglas) bachelor party. Amidst the craziness, which includes Archie (Freeman) winning $100,000, and the four friends as Bikini Contest Judges, Billy and Paddy (De Niro) meet a lounge singer who scrounges up old memories of flames past. The film basically follows these oldsters turned youngsters for a weekend that rekindles the memories, feelings, and camaraderie that a lifetime of friendship stirs up.

The film becomes a bit trivial after a smattering of jokes that make viewers awkwardly giggle, yet it still delivers some solid belly laughs. Vegas is at its core a young-adult-friendly movie detailing friendships that have lasted through the cracks that life brings along. It is a feel-good movie that is recommended for someone in need of a few laughs and a relaxed vibe. Though it is not the most original plot, Moviegoer Melissa Stubbs commented that the film is “a great movie celebrating lifelong friendships. Morgan Freeman is at his best!”
