CORONADO Coronado High School students are enjoying $3 million in renovations to their technical education facilities.
The school was awarded a $1.5 million grant for the upgrades, and Coronado Unified School District kicked in another $1.5 million. A separate $100,000 grant was also awarded to certify all technical arts faculty as trainers on various software programs, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Maya animation software and Pro Tools. Students can then be certified in the software, which will serve as a resume enhancer, school officials say.
Improvements included upgrades to Coronado High’s main theater, black box theater, computer labs, film studio and music rooms, most of which were soundproofed.
