Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex Launches Marketing Campaign to Attract Coaches & Athletes
CORONADO, Ca. (September 13, 2010) Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex (BBMAC) has launched a national marketing effort to position Coronado Island as a mecca for swim and water polo training and competition. The campaign targets coaches and athletes throughout the Nation and is designed to appeal to those looking for warm weather, short-term facility rental.
“This facility was built on the generosity and support of our community,” said Carrie Fisher-Fernan, BBMAC’s Aquatic Director. “Now it’s our turn to give back by bringing teams to Coronado to train, compete and enjoy our beautiful island.”
The campaign highlights the Olympic-class facility’s, fast and versatile pool design coupled with a spectacular, convenient beach town setting. BBMAC’s new brand identity will be featured through a series of efforts including: new web site and brochure; print advertisements in National swimming and water polo magazines, direct mail outreach, public relations feature stories and strategic special events.
“It’s time to shine the spotlight on this beautiful complex,” said Randy Burgess, Coronado High’s water polo coach. “We owe it to our supporters and to Brian and his family.”
According to Burgess, Coronado High School was recently recognized by MaxPreps, a National high school sports web site, for having one of the Best Athletic Traditions’ in water polo.
“We plan to build on this reputation and we’ll have BBMAC as our training facility to make it happen.”
BBMAC is an $8.5 million state-of-the art complex completed in late 2006. The complex features a 50-meter, 7-foot depth Olympic-Class pool that accommodates any water polo course length and can be split into multiple courses for maximum versatility. The High School originally planned on selling the building’s naming rights for $1 million, but the school board, fundraisers and community members unanimously approved naming the facility in Bent’s honor.
