The girls of the Coronado lacrosse team aren’t really a “before noon” kind of group. “My team is notorious for not motivating in the morning,” Coronado coach Jessica Battle said. “But they tend to perk up in the afternoons.” When 5:30 rolled around yesterday afternoon, her Islanders were more than ready for the Gold Bracket championship of the Surf, Sun & Stix Invitational lacrosse tournament at Westview High.
