Bettye T. Vaughen , owner of the Villa Capri by the sea, revealed today that the Villa Capri will be the site of a special book signing event as part of the March release of novelist, T.B. Smith’s, “The Sticking Place”, the first in a new series of Luke Jones Novels, portions of which he wrote and edited while a guest at the Villa Capri by the sea.
The Sticking Place – it’s 1978 in “America’s Finest City” San Diego, California and one rookie cop is learning the hardest lessons the streets have to teach. Luke Jonesa recently graduated, Shakespeare Quoting literature majoris about to discover that dealing with crooks is the easiest part of his new job. For here, in a world populated by people ruled by their obsessions, Luke’s strong will and quick tongue alienate many of his senior officers and he must fight to be accepted. Although eventually labeled a hero, his success comes at great cost.

Author Timothy “T.B.” Smith served as a police officer for twenty-seven years with the City of San Diego and San Diego Unified School District Police Departments, retiring as a lieutenant in 2003. He’s a graduate of San Diego State University, where he studied English Literature and creative writing.
