Nonteaching Staff Agree to Furloughs in Coronado?

CORONADO — Nonteaching staff at the Coronado Unified School District will take furlough days the next two years in exchange for one year of job security.

Trustees in the 3,100-student district voted unanimously May 26 to approve the furlough deal with the union representing the employees. The move will save the district $123,000, according to district officials. The district is projecting a $2.1 million deficit in its $26 million budget next year.
