Local Heroes: Kind Gestures Noticed by Others

Do you know a local hero? Let us know so we can share with our readers.

A Non-Local Hero

I mention my sister who has been my non-local hero. I had a stroke in October. When I was released from the nursing home in January, my sister came from Connecticut to help in my recovery. My husband of 58 years could not take care of me!  He had surgery in November and afterwards had a stay in the hospital for a month. He was home and was very weak. My sister, Willi came to the rescue! Then the pandemic occurred. Connecticut was closed and so she was advised to stay here in Coronado. I am grateful she is still here, good company and a good cook. But she is homesick. She has been gone from home a long unplanned time. Surely she is a hero!

The Lund Family Heroes!

Started possibly to keep three active daughters busy, Abby Lund, editor, is up to newsletter #30, keeping our neighborhood informed, cleverly creating activities to bond and bind us into a group of friends. It is fun and it is comforting. Thanks, Lunds, for all the work!
