Cops and Robbers: Unlocked Cars Result in Multiple Property Thefts (10/27/17-11/5/17)

Thanks to the City of Coronado Police Department for providing The Coronado Times with the below information (partial list):

Crimes:

11/2/17-11/3/17: Petty Theft near 300 block of I Avenue

Unknown suspect stole items from victim’s unlocked vehicle. The total estimated loss is $686.95.

11/2/17-11/3/17: Petty Theft near 400 block of I Avenue

Unknown suspect stole items from victim’s two unlocked vehicles. The total estimated loss is $340.

11/2/17-11/3/17: Petty Theft near 300 block of I Avenue

Unknown suspect stole registration paperwork from victim’s unlocked vehicle. The estimated cost to replace the paperwork is $35.

11/2/17-11/3/17: Grand Theft Property near 400 block of J Avenue

Unknown suspect stole several items from victim’s unlocked vehicle. The total amount of the stolen items is $967.

10/30/17: Petty Theft near 600 block of D Avenue

Unknown suspect took the victim’s bicycle that was parked in front of the location, unsecured. The property loss is approximately $150. No evidence or witnesses were located.

10/29/17: Forgery near 1500 block of Orange Avenue

Suspect entered five businesses on Hotel del Coronado property and Lavender Day Spa on Orange Avenue, as well. Suspect used seven counterfeit $100 bills in US currency to make purchases at each location.

10/28/17-10/29/17: Petty Theft near 1500 block of First Street

Unknown subject stole victim’s wallet out of his back pocket between 11:00 PM on October 28 and 1:00 AM on October 29.

10/28/17-10/29/17: Vandalism near 600 block of Pomona Avenue

The right rear window on victim’s vehicle was shattered. Nothing inside the vehicle was taken. Through a witness check, suspect information was located. The suspect admitted to vandalizing the vehicle and will pay to repair the damage

10/28/17: Forgery near 800 block of Orange Avenue

Three subjects came to location and used a counterfeit $100 bill to purchase services. The subjects left with food and change.

10/27/17: Grand Theft near 800 block of H Avenue

Unknown suspect took a brown leather laptop bag containing a Microsoft Surface Book laptop computer from an unlocked vehicle parked in front of the location. The total loss for the stolen items was approximately $2,800.

31 year old male

10/30/17: Driving While License Suspended – Misdemeanor near 1300 block of Orange Avenue
23 year old male

10/30/17: Use of Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor near 900 block of Ocean Boulevard
33 year old male

10/29/17: Driving Under the Influence While on Probation – Misdemeanor near 200 block of B Avenue
31 year old male

10/29/17: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol – Misdemeanor near 500 block of Glorietta Boulevard
31 year old female

10/27/17: Receiving Stolen Property – Felony near 500 block of Glorietta Boulevard
28 year old male

10/27/17: Receiving Stolen Property – Felony near 600 block of B Avenue
25 year old male

10/27/17: Possession of Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor near 1100 block of Sixth Street
