Coronado Little League Benefits from Donations from the City and Chamber of Commerce

If you’ve ever been to a little league baseball game, there’s a certain feel to the air. The players are ready for the game, parents wait anxiously to watch their children play, and there’s just a down home feel that you can’t replicate. If you’ve ever been to a little league baseball game at Coronado’s Bradley Field, it’s a whole new ballgame. Touted as the envy of San Diego’s District 32, our home field is picture perfect. Bradley Field boasts a beautiful, green infield and outfield and dirt baselines that compare to the finest in the MLB; large trees line the right field fence providing shade to spectators (and protection from the occasional foul ball), there’s a sound system and an electronic scoreboard, and a stadium right behind home plate.

A few weeks ago, a shade structure was built to cover the stadium seats at Bradley Field. During both the spring and fall seasons, not many braved the heat of those seats without an umbrella. Now, thanks to the City of Coronado, fans can watch some of the best baseball around under this beautiful, retractable shade structure. In a thank you ceremony hosted by Coronado Little League, recognition and gratitude were expressed for the generous donation by the City of Coronado to construct the shaded overhang as a well-appreciated addition to our facility.

Along with the City, Coronado Little League thanked members of the Coronado Chamber of Commerce. In honor of our retiring Fire Chief, Mike Blood, the Chamber donated profits from a Sundowner Raffle to Coronado Little League for safety equipment. This gift provided several coaches with first aid kits and many, many boxes of instant ice packs. Thanks to the generous provisions from the City of Coronado and the Coronado Chamber of Commerce, Coronado Little League has benefited tremendously and is ready to add more players to its lineup.

Coronado Little League’s fall baseball season is well underway, so stop by Bradley Field or Tidelands Park on a Sunday afternoon to catch the action! Our spring season starts early 2018, but registration is now open! We offer divisions/teams for players ages 4 to 16, as well as volunteer opportunities for parents and fans. We need coaches, assistant coaches, umpires, scorekeepers, and more! For more information on registration and how you can be a part of Coronado Little League, check out our newly redesigned website at coronadolittleleague.net.
