CHS Girls’ Golf – One Win, One Loss as Season Winds Down

Last Tuesday, the CHS Girls’ Golf team prevailed in a match against Patrick Henry High School. Playing at their home course, they dominated the match and won with a score 221 strokes to 278. Lauren White was named medalist of the match, shooting a total of 41 strokes. Sophia Matthews and Crista Izuzquiza played just as well, with scores of 42 and 43 strokes, respectively.

The next match, on Thursday, proved more difficult for the girls’ team, playing away at the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo. Coronado shot a total of 227 strokes, while Patrick Henry only had 197. Patrick Henry is a very strong team, and this was the second time Coronado had lost to them.

As the season is ending, Coach Gordon was able to determine where Coronado falls in the CIF San Diego Section. With their record of 12 wins to 9 losses, the team seems to be placing 9th. Next week will be the last matches of the season for Coronado.

Next Week’s Matches:
  • Monday, October 2 vs. Cathedral Catholic High School at the Coronado Golf Course @ 3:30 PM
  • Tuesday, October 3 vs. Academy of Our Lady of Peace at the Coronado Golf Course @ 3:30 PM
