Our city’s Active Transportation team, assembled in July 2016 to develop an Active Transportation Master Plan, has been working hard for almost a year now. As a refresher, this plan consists of a newly-developed Pedestrian Master Plan and updates to the Bicycle Master Plan and the Safe Routes to School Plan.

A draft Active Transportation Plan is close to being completed. What is available for review is a list of actions in the areas of Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, and Evaluation. Also proposed is a series of Engineering and infrastructure additions / modifications that will affect virtually every neighborhood in Coronado. Now is the time to give your feedback to influence the final plan.

A public workshop is scheduled for Monday, June 19, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Coronado Library Winn Room. Please take a few minutes to stop by, review what is being proposed, and provide your feedback. Resident input is critical to the long-term success of Active Transportation in Coronado, and now is the time to provide it while preparation of the plan is still in progress.

I hope to see you there.
