Coronado Boys Volleyball Team Plays in CIF Championship

Junior Dominic DeNardi hits a spike against Hoover High

Boys’ Varsity Volleyball had a season record of 20-10, ultimately winning their first league in school history. They made it to the final games of the Division III CIF Championship Tournament but lost to the Hoover High Cardinals on Friday, May 19. The scores were 20-25, 15-25, 13-25.

Coach George Cavaco says, “This year was all about making history. This team has been amazing and full of determination. At practice and at home games, the boys would often look up in the gym and say, ‘We’re going get a banner for you, Coach.’ They sure did! Even though we fell short at the championship game, they still earned a league champions banner and a CIF runner-up banner.”

Coronado Boys Volleyball would like to thank Coronado High School, the Optimist Club, the parents of the volleyball team, and the residents of Coronado for their continued support of this program.
