Easy Day Sports and URT – two local Coronado businesses partnered to support a very cool charity event that is a part of golf week for the Farmer’s Insurance Open.
On Saturday Jan 21st, runners and surfers will hit the beaches of La Jolla Shores for the 1 Wave Challenge and Torrey Pines Adventure Run– a world record attempt for the most surfers on one wave and a 5 mile beach run from La Jolla to the back fence of Torrey Pines golf course. Easy Day Sports is doing the event management- (same company that produces the Coronado 4th of July Run) and URT designed the participant shirt (click above image to see larger version).
All Proceeds will benefit the Boys to Men Mentoring Charity– a group encouraging and empowering at-risk fatherless boys and doing amazing work in San Diego!
All attendees will receive a tee shirt, a rash guard (surfers), a finisher medal (runners), a pancake breakfast provided by Del Mar’s Snooze Eatery, and live music provided by Sandollar, a popular San Diego band.
Registration is $60 for the run and limited to 300 runners or a $250 donation to be included in the world record surf attempt- limited to 150 surfers.
